Usually it means you didn’t die to that threat during the encounter the badge describes. Exact wording on the badge matters more than forum shorthand.

A few lines are interaction contracts: don’t let something in, close something, don’t be greedy. Read the badge text like a spec, not a story.

Why is my friend’s list longer than mine?

Some unlocks are rare runs, long grinds, or “you had to be there” patches. That’s normal.
